Zoltan Haindrich commented on HIVE-25795:
-----------------------------------------

I'm not so thrilled - as it seems to me that this is not exploitable above
java8u191 - which was released in 2018

https://www.veracode.com/blog/security-news/urgent-analysis-and-remediation-guidance-log4j-zero-day-rce-cve-2021-44228

{code}

    Log4j version – all 2.x versions before 2.15.0 (released today, Friday,
December 10, 2021) are affected
    JVM version - if lower than:
        Java 6 – 6u212
        Java 7 – 7u202
        Java 8 – 8u192
        Java 11 - 11.0.2
{code}

so people running ancient java runtime and a vulnerable log4j are out of luck...

> [CVE-2021-44228] Update log4j2 version to 2.15.0
