Review comment:
It cannot be skipped because `TypeCheckProcFactory` uses
`SemanticGraphWalker` which requires a return value other than `null` from
`SemanticNodeProcessor.process`.
I introduced a placeholder and filter it out when collecting the children of
a function node.
