[~mgergely], could you check the patch in HIVE-22566 ? It seems to tackle same 
problem.

1) Yes, it is as you describe it above, views are not an issue.
2) I think it is OK (and even recommended) to state clearly the fully qualified 
name of the MVs that are preventing dropping the table in the error message.
