OK, I have renamed patch to "HIVE-18767-branch-2.3.patch". The documentation on
branches in the Wiki is out of date but "branch-2.3" looks the most likely
candidate for where the next 2.3 release will be coming from. Please correct me
if I'm wrong. I did a fresh checkout of that branch and ensured that the patch
applies cleanly:
