I don't think we need any changes on the HBase side to get the stats that
[~stack] wants. When doing the Cloudera-internal testing for multiwal and HDFS
HSM, I gathered these stats by running HDFS fsck in a loop to get block
locations for all files under the WAL directory. It worked fine, from what I
remember.
Unfortunately, I didn't save the logs from that work.
