[~max12]: Yes, you can do what you described above. Your other options are:
* Locate the pull request for that particular change and apply that diff to the
1.5.5 code.
* Check out the staging/1.6.0 branch, which will already have that change.
You will, however, also need changes to the client-side - there is a related
change to the keymap list in the RDP protocol section that is required to be
able to select that keymap for a particular connection.
