I've lowered the priority of this, and also removed the 2.0.0 tags from it, as
2.0.0 already has a couple of big tasks tagged for it (AngularJS -> Angular,
and Jarkarta EE compatibility), and, given the uncertainties around what this
implementation would look like, I'm not sure we want to tag it for 2.0.0 at the
moment.
