[~vnick], I think you're right from what information I can find on U2F and
similar technologies. With there being a hardware device involved, this would
have to be X.509-based via SSL client authentication ... or possibly WebAuthn.
It sounds like we should try implementing general SSO via smart card (SSL
client auth) while GUACAMOLE-1601 can remain the home for WebAuthn support.
Once implemented, one or both of those would satisfy the original need behind
this JIRA issue.
