@reswqa Could you help take a review again? The switch code is reverted, and the PR is basically the previous three commits + a doc improvement commit that explains why dedicated serializer is more efficient on a high level. I plan to address various issues related to null handling in [FLINK-35555](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLINK-35555) and revise the Scale-type related doc as suggested by @davidradl later in a separate PR before the release of 2.0. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
