In the [Strimzi](https://github.com/strimzi/strimzi-kafka-operator) project we have had success using [`yq`](https://github.com/mikefarah/yq). I think to cover all the possible permutation, you would probably end up writing a tool like that in bash functions anyway, so may be we could add that as a dependency? -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
