Here's a brief example of the importance of documentation:
I recently engaged in a discussion with fellow Flink users, particularly
regarding the deployment options available for Flink. I was aware that support
for Mesos had been removed in Flink. However, some Flink users pointed me to
the architecture page of Flink, which still listed Mesos as one of the
deployment options . To address this, I have to share FLINK-23118 and flink
1.14 release announcement

to convinece them :D
Turns out, this Jira is already created to address the stale documentation. So,
I shared a small patch to address this discrepancy. If you've got a moment,
