I just read this thread and it is very sad.
Scala 2.13 was released on 2019 , we are on 2021.
Scala 2.13 in couple time will be replaced with dotty (Scala 3.0) and Flink
still on Scala 2.12.
keeping the situation like this create huge overhead for Scala users. cause
their application already running on 2.13 and they need to downgrade components
to 2.12 just because of flink.
or create cross compile 'common projects' with 2.13 and 2.12 just because
flink use scala 2.12.
And I didn't even started to talk how much time AWS or any other cloud provider
will upgrade flink to the new version of scala 2.13, which is at least couple
months/years. (i.e. latest emr version use flink 1.12.1)
