A 40% regression is observed with the {{serializerHeavyString}} benchmarks,
where the commits perfectly match FLINK-21417.

I'm reverting the changes.
Also noticed FLINK-21236 which tacks migrating {{HeapMemorySegment}} use cases
to {{HybridMemorySegment}}.
