Aljoscha Krettek commented on FLINK-13025: ------------------------------------------ Sorry for the late response, I was quite busy with other stuff and then I was out sick for a couple of days. I agree that we need a new connector for ES 7.x. From the comments so far it seems that a 7.x connector would be compatible with older servers. So we should, as [~yanghua] suggested, try to maintain one "modern" connector where we bump versions when new versions come out instead of creating a new connector for every new version. Right now we have 1.x, 2.x, 5.x, 6.x. I don't think that will be maintainable in the long run. Does anyone know already if a ES 7.x connector will work without performance problems with a 6.x server and below? (We know that the other way round is bad, already.) > Elasticsearch 7.x support > ------------------------- > > Key: FLINK-13025 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FLINK-13025 > Project: Flink > Issue Type: New Feature > Components: Connectors / ElasticSearch > Affects Versions: 1.8.0 > Reporter: Keegan Standifer > Priority: Major > > Elasticsearch 7.0.0 was released in April of 2019: > [https://www.elastic.co/blog/elasticsearch-7-0-0-released] > The latest elasticsearch connector is > [flink-connector-elasticsearch6|https://github.com/apache/flink/tree/master/flink-connectors/flink-connector-elasticsearch6] -- This message was sent by Atlassian Jira (v8.3.2#803003)
