But sadly a lot of people will not update to iOS 14 or 15 thinking their devices will become slower with newer iOS versions (and they are probably right), so even if they can, they won’t. On the other hand, doing such thing is highly insecure, iOS 12 kept receiving security updates up until January 2023, while iOS 13 stopped receiving updates on September 2020 and iOS 14 on October 2021 because Apple won’t backport such fixes since the devices could get the security updates by updating to iOS 15 instead. So keep supporting iOS 13-14 looks like a bad idea, securitywise.
