It is recommended for a class like {{Complex}} (cf. NUMBERS-68).
bq. There is a test in ComplexTest called TestComplex which tests extending
Complex.
It is used for testing serialization because it wants to access a {{protected}}
method; if the class is _final_ this method is to be removed.
