Venkata Siva Vijayendra Bhamidipati commented on CLOUDSTACK-1552: ----------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Shweta, The test plan needs a few corrections and additions: - In all test cases, change user data to "encoded user data" to emphasize that the size of the base64 encoded data (and not the raw user data) cannot cross the 2K and 32K limits for GET and POST respectively. - In 3) and 4), change "call deployVirtualmachine api with >32k user data on port 8080" to "call deployVirtualmachine api with xKB of encoded user data where 2<x<32 user data on port 8080". - In 5) change >32K to >2K. - The updateVM command needs to be tested as well. Please include a test case for the same. You can create two test cases - One, with the VM not supplied with user data when it's created, then, shut down, followed by executing the updateVMcommand and supplying it with user data (in the above combinations {[0..32K] [GET|POST]}, and starting up the VM and checking if the new userdata shows up, and two, the VM being supplied with user data during creation, followed by the same steps for updateVM command, and checking if the user data has been changed to the newly supplied values. Please let me know if you have any questions in this regard.
