Claus Ibsen created CAMEL-25529:
-----------------------------------
Summary: camel-yaml-dsl-validator - an option of a step's EIP at
the column of the EIP: say which key it lines up with
Key: CAMEL-25529
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CAMEL-25529
Project: Camel
Issue Type: Improvement
Components: camel-yaml-dsl
Reporter: Claus Ibsen
Fix For: 4.23.0
A local model writes an option of a step's EIP (steps: of split, parameters: of
to) at the column of the EIP key, as a second key of the - item:
{noformat}
- split:
expression:
simple: "${body[lines]}"
steps:
- log: ...
{noformat}
The validator reports two errors:
* "must have at most 1 properties (steps: is at the column of - split: as an
option of split it is indented under split:, two spaces more, next to its other
options)" - read from the dash of "- split:", two spaces more is where steps:
already is;
* "property 'steps' is not defined ... (steps: is the list of a route or of an
EIP that owns a pipeline ...: move the items up one level ...)" - the opposite
of the fix.
In the local-model benchmark (qwen3.6) the model wrote the same YAML 5 to 17
times and ran out of tool calls; four steps failed this way (split twice, to
with parameters, split again in an earlier run).
Improvement: the hint says which key the option lines up with now and which it
should line up with: "steps: lines up with split:, so it is read as a second
key of the - item; it is an option of split: indent steps: and the lines under
it two spaces more, so steps: lines up with expression:". The repeated
"property 'steps' is not defined" error at the same step is dropped. Follow-up
of CAMEL-25372.
