Claus Ibsen created CAMEL-25161:
-----------------------------------
Summary: camel-jbang - AI project overview: plain-language labels
for the decision points of a route
Key: CAMEL-25161
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CAMEL-25161
Project: Camel
Issue Type: Improvement
Components: camel-jbang
Reporter: Claus Ibsen
The AI project overview (CAMEL-25143) describes routes (a short label and a
note) and proposes capabilities, and the Diagram tab (CAMEL-25147) shows them
in the architecture, the topology and a route's title. Inside a route, the
business view has nothing more to show than the technical one: a when box reads
{{when[jsonpath{$.order[?(@.product=='widget')]}]}}. The decision points of a
route are where a plain-language hint helps most.
h3. Proposal
* *Which nodes.* Only the decision and structure points: choice/when/otherwise,
filter, split, aggregate, loop, doTry/doCatch, circuitBreaker. Not every to or
log, so the prompt stays small enough for local models.
* *The facts.* The overview analyzer collects those nodes with their expression
text (the jsonpath, the simple predicate). Java routes are read into the model
by the Java DSL parser (CAMEL-25148); the YAML and XML readers already walk the
steps.
* *A stable address.* Runtime node ids (when1, to2) are generated and change
when a route is edited, so a node is addressed by its path in the route
({{choice[1]/when[1]}}), which the source and the running route tree give alike.
* *The summary.* A new AI-assisted Steps section in camel-summary.md: {{route /
path: label | why}}, marked as the other AI sections are.
* *The TUI.* In a route's diagram the business view shows the label on the box,
marked and styled as AI-assisted; the technical view keeps the expression; the
Info panel of a node shows both.
* *When.* In the project overview run, capped per route; an "explain this
route" on demand can follow.
