Tuomas Palenius commented on CAMEL-20466:
-----------------------------------------
[~davsclaus] As an improvement for the change process we suggest to always
check that the Camel's documentation is also updated.
We had an issue and RCA pointed into this change.
* The change, that `inlineRoutes` is now `true` by default, is not documented
on Camel's REST DSL -page. This will *probably* cause problems for others as
well.
* When a route that is implicitly inlined by this option, is called by other
route, it is not found by Camel, which could take some time to figure out what
causes this.
Perhaps there could be some analysis by Camel to check if there are any
producers trying to call a route that was inlined, and rise an error in this
case?
As a defense mechanism against implicit working of this inlineRoutes -option we
will set it as explicitly false for each restConfiguration.
> camel-core - Rest DSL to be inlined by default to avoid clutter up list of
> routes

> When using rest-dsl you have 1 route per rest verb (GET, POST etc) and then
> another route that it typically call via direct.
> There is an inlined = true option you can use to make this a single route. We
> should make this the default.
