Zhen Chen commented on CALCITE-7103:
------------------------------------
I understand that you should test whether using or omitting "AS" causes errors
in Hive or Spark directly, rather than relying on Calcite's dialect conversion.
The purpose of dialect conversion is to transform standard SQL supported by
Calcite into specific SQL forms compatible with various database dialects.
> Keep ALLOWS_AS in Hive and Spark SqlDialects

> In Hive and Spark engines, the {{AS}} syntax is supported.
> [https://spark.apache.org/docs/latest/sql-ref-syntax-qry-select.html|http://example.com/]
> !image-2025-07-20-03-56-55-568.png!
> However, currently, the Hive and Spark dialects will remove the {{AS}} during
> parsing.

> Therefore, we should set the default value of the method:
> {{!image-2025-07-20-03-55-59-759.png|width=655,height=149!}}
> to {{true}} in their respective dialects.
