Julian Hyde commented on CALCITE-5420:
--------------------------------------

This feature sounds important and useful. But can you refresh my memory: is
there any other decorrelation code besides SqlToRelConverter? I have a feeling
that there are some planner rules. If so, do those already work, or could this
work be done there?

> SqlToRel should populate projects corralate id for queries with aggregates.

> The following query does not populate correlate id in the project:
> {code:sql}
> SELECT SUM(
>   (select char_length(dname) from "scott".dept where dept.deptno =
> emp.empno)) as s
> FROM "scott".emp
> {code}
> Having the correlate id populated is important for expanding nested queries.
