Updates the console to 1.6.0. Removes previous workarounds from
5e059318332e950d1783f6f943dc0a39b05b0089 and
f29a58eb57fe855b60e631bccdbef44470d4b590 no longer needed with 1.6.0.
NOTE: this is expected to fail CI currently, as 1.6.0 is not yet released
and so isnt available to the build (I tried it in my fork with access to the
staging repo, and locally, both good). Raising draft PR for later in case
anyone else wants it to try out integrating the console for testing.
