@jbertram I added a few comments, but they are kind of optional. If you can
address them: nice... otherwise it looks good to me.
Feel free to merge it as soon as you decide if my comments are valid or
not.. (Unless you want more reviews).. but this looks solid to me...
(assuming the testsuite is good of course).
