These operating system versions have all reached their respective
end-of-support dates as far as general support is concerned. All of them have
newer versions (some of them more than one) that are also supported by Impala,
so it is reasonable to expect that Impala users and contributors have either
upgraded their systems to a supported OS version, or they will do this shortly.
In the absence of generally available vendor support, it would also be hard for
Impala to maintain safe operations in case a vulnerability came along that
would not get fixed by the OS vendor claiming end of support for a particular
affected version.
Based on the above reasoning I propose to remove support for these operating
system versions from the native-toolchain project, therefore from new binary
builds of the toolchain as well. Older toolchain builds will remain accessible,
and usable for older branches and versions of Impala; the deprecation and
removal will only impact the {{master}} branch, i.e. the upcoming Impala 5.0.0
version.
