Hi Mincheol,

1. conceptually, PUT is the replacement and post is update each value as below.

However, sample code has been implemented differently. We issued the Jira
ticket for this.

https://jira.iotivity.org/browse/IOT-948

??: cid:image001.png at 01D1578A.57656060

2. This is not required.

However, from specific scenario, another resource can be created. (Anyway, I?m
not sure which code line you point out?)

As a same manner, other resource can be removed also according to the scenario.

3. As an example, Room is the parent and light and desk could be children.

Subject: [dev] POST and PUT, creating resource

Hello , I'm Mincheol Cha.

I'm participating in graduateschool at Sungkyunkwan university.

I joined this group today. Nice to meet you.

I've been looking over the example source codes in iotivity 1.0.1. (
simpleserver.cpp, simpleclient.cpp , etc)

And I got a few questions in simpleserver.cpp and simpleclient.cpp( These exist
in iotivity/resource/example )

1. What is the difference between POST and PUT?

2. When the server get POST message, why do the server create the another new
resource? (The server already created a resource when the server started)

3. What is the purpose of "child resource"? Could you tell me an example please?

Thank you
