I've had quite a number of people telling me they tested the latest additions 
and had it work fine so I applied the VM stuff to r1999.

And here's the next thing:

I added x86_64 support to vm_x86.c

Check out this patch:
http://thilo.tjps.eu/download/patches/vm_x86_64.patch

It's still got a few warning macros in there but in the meantime feel free to 
test this. Basically, most of the x86 assembler code is reusable, only memory 
operations need to be handled specially.
This also addresses the problem with the long loading time for the xm_86_64 VM 
that we've had thus far.
