I noticed that there's a stale version of a supported package on pecl:

Should this be removed to avoid confusion?
Alternatively a note might be added, as it has been done for
PECL/domxml, for instance.
Either way, that should also be done for PECL/PDO_SQLITE and
PECL/sqlite3. And the out-dated note for PECL/SQLite should be fixed.
It seems to come up on this list semi-regularly that there are
extensions which exist in both php-src and PECL, with various statuses.
PECL is also considered the official "attic" for extensions which are no
longer supported in php-src.
I wonder if there's anything we can do to make this relationship
cleaner. For instance - and consider this a straw man because I haven't
thought it through at all - could supported extensions by managed in
PECL's version control with special "official PHP build" branches /
releases? That way, pecl.php.net could show the correct support status
as a matter of course.
