This entire thread is about trying to find ways for a new feature *not* to be "at the expense of" anything. If you don't want autoloading, that's fine. It was fine in 2004 when PHP 5 first allowed it; it was fine in 2009 when PHP 5.3 introduced namespaces; and it will be fine in 2017 even if we add something new to PHP 7.2.
Perhaps rather than complaining that people are focussing on the "wrong" improvements to the language, you could come up with some well-thought-out suggestions of things you *would* like to see added.
