I want to put that line on a plaque. It applies for a lot of features being offered for PHP: They do actually make the language easier, not harder, by making the baseline language more consistent, robust, and coherent.

The same argument can, and likely will, be made for native async; sure it *can* be done in userspace, but doing it in a standard way in the language will make it *easer*, not harder, to use PHP to its full potential.

No, this is not true of every new language feature, but it is true of many of them. The language needs to serve the ecosystem, not vice versa.
