I touched on this in another message, but I think you may have misunderstood the role of some people on this list: most, like you and me, are participating as interested users and occasional contributors. Looking at the list of people who've participated in this particular thread, I'm not sure any one of them has commit rights, or even voting rights - certainly none are people who I would call "core developers" in the sense you seem to mean it.

A lot of things are proposed on this list, some gain quick support (like the ??= proposal), some are controversial; many, many, proposals do not result in any change to the language, because there is no consensus, or in some cases, just no interest. It is certainly not the case that if you stop shouting, this deprecation and removal will quietly go ahead.
