I'd like it if we didn't even begin to consider this line of argument ("it would probably already pass"), and I'm glad that we're remaining open to debate here (and it should kept open for much, much longer). If this aims to be a ~democratic process, then the approach cannot simply be "enough people are in agreement, done".
