The removal of pdo_oci had been suggested as part of the "Removal of dead or not yet PHP7 ported SAPIs and extensions" RFC, but there has been feedback from Christopher Jones, that the extension will be supported by Oracle.[1] [1] <https://wiki.php.net/rfc/removal_of_dead_sapis_and_exts#extpdo_oci_and_extoci8> -- Christoph M.
