I'd say this would be excellent - somebody contributing time to triage the bugs on bugs.php.net and separating "I made a typo but I'm sure it's PHP's fault" from "I discovered a major case of broken but nobody knows about it", giving suitable feedback for the former and raising profile of the latter on internals - that would be awesome.
