Seeing the same issues relitigated all over again in absurdly long threads is annoying, but seeing these meta-discussions is exasperating (I've lost the count of the number of e-mails just speculating about the likelihood of success of such a proposal).

So please, by all means come up with an actual proposal (implementation included) and take it to a vote, but stop these meta-discussions and avoid recycling arguments just so you can have the last word.
