The basic problem that needs to be resolved is what the pdo driver tests should
be using to test the pdo driver? The test failure is not with rowCount, but with
the interaction between pdo and generic interbase driver, so that needs
investigating in isolation to rowCount. I am suspicious that this may be a
difference between interbase and firebird default actions, as well, so fxing may
well require an 'fbird' generic driver.
