While switching back should simply be a matter of telling the package manager to use the older version ... how many people actually get that process to work? Not a PHP problem, but one that affects most of us nowadays when some parts get updated, while the additional sections still expect the older version? While critical errors should be picked up via the release process, there should perhaps be a little less 'rush' to automatically update systems, allowing us to make a choice when we do upgrade?
