I see potential confusions doing so, users might complain seeing Zend Multibyte Support: disabled while having set zend.multibyte to 1 Maybe changing: php_info_print_table_row(2, "Zend Multibyte Support", "disabled"); to: php_info_print_table_row(2, "Zend Multibyte Support", "disabled (at compile time)"); would help.
