Eventually I would like yo make the 2 interchangeable and have PHP/PDO

Two wrongs don't make it right?
Either we have PDO2 with a generic change on all drivers, or we get M$ to ollow
the standard and fix the sqlserv driver.
This STILL does not clear up some of the cross database problems but at least we
would all be working to the same set of rules?
