I guess one task that will likely be necessary is to ensure that all NEWS entries are in the proper location. I fear some stuff is now in the 5.3 NEWS file that would then need to be in the 5.2 NEWS file in case we do release 5.2.7. But I guess you (Jani) and Hannes are tracking (and slapping) those cases quite diligently.
