It's an important thing that people are be able to show their choices with proper reasoning. I can only commend Greg for doing so. Unfortunately, there are too many misguided souls that just want to add stuff to PHP for no obvious benefit. PHP needs some love to create a better user experience, nor argument there - however, this love should to actually fixing the stuff that we have. PDO can use quite some attention for example. Let's not waste time (and sanity) by adding new useles constructs that only appeal to some.
