After I played around with this extension, I've finally compiled a working version for included files (thread_include(...)) which also doesn't crash any more at shutdown (WinXP, PHP 5.2.2). This extension needs some work of someone who has enough insight in the *deep* internals of zend-engine. Multi-threading is possible with an extension like this but it should only be enabled in CLI.
