I don't understand how you interpreted my view as a -1. I'm somewhat ambivalent about it, but I don't think it would go against the grain of the language and I think people grasp the concept of square brackets being associated with arrays. Right from day one we have had the magical [] syntax for doing an array push, so I am not worried about readability, nor about confusing people. Take my vote as a +1 please.
