The easy solution: move the mailing list over to php.net, and/or subscribe to it all of the committers to /ext/curl (and yes, I have been subscribed to the mailing list, but had overall more questions than answers...)
Nope... Daniel agreed to keep his ML going. That's not a concern, it can be linked from the manual or from the support page. The problem is with googling for documentation - at present what you get from that is PHP/CURL, which is neither fish nor fowl.
