How does PHP internally distinguish it? Surely it has some kind of pointer/address thingie... I don't think a developer CARES what the ID is (or isn't) or what it looks like, so long as it's reasonably short and fast to access, and it's not something that's only available sometimes on some systems. -- Some people have a "gift" link here.
