It means that ./configure failed to detect your sendmail binary.

I checked config.log and it doesn't give any error....
It says:
configure:11739: checking for chosen SAPI module
configure:11806: checking for sendmail
configure:11851: checking whether system uses EBCDIC
And what could go wrong when sendmail is installed in /usr?
