PCRE sounds like a destabilizing element, but if confidence is high(?) It would be nice to see a bugfix-only 4.4.x and 5.2.x release very soon, seeing the regressions that have been introduced after the RC phase has begun for the last few releases :) Speaking for joe user here (I patch around them).
