If someone is not familiar with the concept of the array at all, it doesn't matter if it's written as array(1,2,3) or [1,2,3]. That's not what we are discussing right now.

My point is that if its written array(1,2,3) that have something to search for in the docs. The new proposed syntax removes that keyword that a user can use to find the help they need. As I said, back ticks, as well as ternary, both suffer from this problem. I see no reason to add another hurdle for new users when there is no clear advantage to this new syntax. And, IMO, clear means that a majority of people think its a no brainer. I would say right now we have nothing of the sort.
