I've stumbled across this with php5, but this is also in php6 (against which the patch below is): the sqlite Makefile.am uses a GNU/Linux-only test(1) syntax that won't build on (e.g.) NetBSD. The patch below fixes this for POSIX/SUSv3 conformance.
