Then do it in PHP, it is very easy to create one for the simple operations (which seems to be what you are looking for). And you can start now or help the PEAR File_Archive maintainers to port their packages to php5 (and use the native functions). I'm ready to help or to modify the API as long as zip is not in the beta phase. No other language has such wrappers implemented nativelly and for those I use, I do not know any wrapper at all.
